Rollin' With My Homies

We had an impromptu play date with cousin Brady and Reid/Reece N. What a fun time!

Where Have I Been?!

It's the beginning of Feb, on a Tuesday, and we met Grant for lunch at Honey's. The kids played and had a great time. They looked like this:

We go home for naps and Baron tells me his tummy hurts. Soon he looks like this - Uh oh:

You know it's not good when your 3 year old asks for the green bowl....and then proceeds to throw up for the next 6 hours :(

The next night (Wednesday) looks like this:

Yep, the twins started throwing up right before bedtime. I made a bed of blankets and sheets in the living room, had a cup of coffee at 9:30 pm and proceeded to catch throw up & comfort little ones for the next 6 hours. They were amazingly in sync with each other....Twins!  *Note ~ not shown is my poor husband being sick in the bedroom. Unfortunately for him, he was pretty much on his own. *2nd Note ~ I called the doctor to inquire for poor Maverick (it took him a couple days longer to bounce back than the other kids) and they confirmed it was the dreaded Norovirus.....YUCK!

I think I fell asleep on the couch around 3:00 am and the house slept peacefully until 7:45 am. We woke up on Thursday to this:

Which rapidly turned into this:

Beautiful, right?!

Friday the snow fall turned to freezing rain and by Saturday we woke to this:

AGH! Thankfully only a small branch hit the house and we didn't detect any damages. A few of the neighbors came out in the snow and ice to help Grant get the branches out of the street and we finally got everything cleaned up the following weekend with the help of Honey, Uncle Trav and Grandpa's trailer.

And finally....after everything....we looked like this:

What a week!

A Doughnut Kind of Day

Elliott had a sleepover with Aunt Tia last weekend and they were thoughtful enough to bring the boys doughnuts in the morning. Seeing this kid love food and eat like he does is amazing! He was hardly eating anything orally this time last year. Life is good!

Household Happenings

The Mr. and I decided we wanted to update our bathroom....again. That bathroom was the first remodel of this house oh so long ago and it was time to freshen it up. We started working on a Saturday night and are getting closer to the end results. We have found that children slow down these types of projects but it's fun to see them so interested in what is happening. It is not unusual to find Baron in the bathroom with Grant working away and actually being helpful.

Here is a sneak peak at the bathroom as we are starting to lay the floor tile. We are tiling the shower, painting, replacing light fixtures and (probably) updating the countertops. Stay tuned!

Happy New Year 2014!

We got an awesome New Year's Eve surprise in the form of Aunt Shannon, Uncle Joel and the fab four. Apparently they had the week free of practice and just general busyness, so they decided to make the trek to visit for the New Year. We had intended to stay home and relax but ended up at my in-laws for dinner and play. We rang in the New Year with everyone awake and happy! We were home and in bed a little before 1 a.m. and slept in until 8:30 when Elliott woke up (the boys slept until closer to 9:30 a.m.). They took 3+ hour naps and have been happy campers since.

Thank You 2013 for our big boy's 3rd birthday, the twins turning 2, eight years of wedded bliss, many fun times spent with family & friends, the fact that our children are thriving and our heath & happiness! Here's to 2014!!

Uncle Ty Came to Visit!

My younger brother came home for the Christmas holiday and we got to spend 9 fun days with him. We had 3 different nights of most, if not all, of the siblings together playing games and laughing the night away. I even got to spend some time with him out shopping before Christmas and I always love our time together. The kids completely love Uncle Tyler (just like they do Uncle Trav and Uncle Joel) and it's almost as if they get to see him more once or twice a year. He just went home on Monday and the kids have been asking for him ever since.

We love you Uncle Ty and are so happy for the time we got to spend with you. Can't wait to see you next time!
