Imagine Children's Museum

While in WA, Shannon and I took the big boys (Hudson & Baron) to the Children's Museum in Everett. This was Baron's first time at a museum of this sort and he had a fantastic time. There were so many activities and things to see that we were constantly on the move for the 3 hours we were there. I would say the favorites were the rooftop play area, water room and ball area. Looking forward to going again......especially with such great company!

The Twins are TWO!

Happy Birthday to my completely fantastic, hilarious and energetic two year olds!

We spent 5 days at my wonderful sister-in-laws home in WA last week (the guys were shrimping - more on this later) and the twins birthday happened to fall on the Saturday we were there. This is the first birthday of one of my kids that we have gotten to spend with her & my nieces/nephews and they went all out. Balloons and Happy Birthday banner filled the hallway when we woke up and she had the table decorated super cute. The cousins got the twins more balloons when they were in town and Grace made cake pops! There was a lot of playing inside and out, bubble blowing and just all around fun. We were very happy to get to spend this special day with Aunt Shannon, Gram "Honey" and Grace/Ava/Finn/Hudson!

Music Man

This past week the kids and I ventured out to have a visit at my Granny and Papa's house. My mom and step-dad are in town so they came too as did my brother and nephew. The kids and I have been going out more frequently and the kids love it. My grandparents & aunt live in the country where the kids can roam outside, they have chickens and it's wonderful. I have many fond memories of my grandparents house (they still live on the same road but not the same house) since my siblings and I spent a lot of time there growing up. It was an awesome place to be since my youngest 4 aunts still lived at home, the youngest (twins) only 9 years older than me. They tolerated loved us and would take us out riding horses, on picnics, to play in the fields, work in the garden, and even on their dates occasionally. The food was always fresh and homemade....country living at it's best. We had a blast and having my kids get to experience some of that is fantastic.

On this most recent trip Baron helped Granny gather the chicken eggs and while 2 were broken before we even made it into the house (1 courtesy of Elliott and the other the boys were involved), we still came home with 3 farm fresh eggs (1 for each child). Elliott is my animal lover so she spent time trying to catch the chickens and Maverick enjoyed inside more this trip because he was able to use the toy vacuum and play the piano. Grant surprised us and stopped by on his lunch break so the kids had a blast "showing" him the chickens and baby turkeys as well. And while there is always a little fussing over a toy or the occasional fit, we had a great visit and the kids didn't want to come home!

Has Summer Arrived??

We have had fabulous weather the past couple weeks and it feels like summer has arrived with temps in the 80's. This is Oregon though so who really knows how long the sun will stick around but we are soaking it up while we can. This past weekend we spread bark dust, power washed the patio/chairs, washed cars, scrubbed the outside table, got rid of junk that was gross after winter, pulled out & cleaned up summer toys and I am in the process of washing all the outside chair cushions. We had a BBQ at my brother's on Saturday and then we BBQ'd at home Sunday. We all enjoyed sitting outside at dinner for the first time this year. The kids have been spending hours outside playing on their slide, with their water table, playing basketball and helping dad water the plants. Baron loves the variety of activities, Elliott loves taking her clothes off (probably a good time to work on potty training?!) and Maverick loves the freedom. You have to remember that last summer Mav was only crawling and was pretty contained so this summer has amazing potential for everyone!

Here are a few pictures from the last couple weeks ~ Enjoy!

Playing at Granny's is hard work!
