Music Man

This past week the kids and I ventured out to have a visit at my Granny and Papa's house. My mom and step-dad are in town so they came too as did my brother and nephew. The kids and I have been going out more frequently and the kids love it. My grandparents & aunt live in the country where the kids can roam outside, they have chickens and it's wonderful. I have many fond memories of my grandparents house (they still live on the same road but not the same house) since my siblings and I spent a lot of time there growing up. It was an awesome place to be since my youngest 4 aunts still lived at home, the youngest (twins) only 9 years older than me. They tolerated loved us and would take us out riding horses, on picnics, to play in the fields, work in the garden, and even on their dates occasionally. The food was always fresh and homemade....country living at it's best. We had a blast and having my kids get to experience some of that is fantastic.

On this most recent trip Baron helped Granny gather the chicken eggs and while 2 were broken before we even made it into the house (1 courtesy of Elliott and the other the boys were involved), we still came home with 3 farm fresh eggs (1 for each child). Elliott is my animal lover so she spent time trying to catch the chickens and Maverick enjoyed inside more this trip because he was able to use the toy vacuum and play the piano. Grant surprised us and stopped by on his lunch break so the kids had a blast "showing" him the chickens and baby turkeys as well. And while there is always a little fussing over a toy or the occasional fit, we had a great visit and the kids didn't want to come home!
