June 8th - 16th

I apologize for my lack of posts lately. My goal is to blog at least a couple times per week and lately I have been unable to meet this goal. Our three very active, lovely children may have something to do with this.....

On June 8th we had the opportunity to party it up with 3 little buddies. First party up was celebrating Henry's 1st birthday at the BGC which included an enormous blowup activity structure/obstacle course. The kids completely loved it and spent the whole time we were at the party playing on it (think red-faced, sweaty from playing, can't get enough awesomeness). The twins were able to climb over/under/thru the whole thing themselves, which actually surprised me a bit since it was that big. We got to enjoy cookies and milk since it was a Cookie Monster theme....so cute!

We left the BGC and headed straight to the next party at the Dodge residence to celebrate Mason & Brock's 5th birthday BBQ. There I got to visit with Jen, Suzi & Ally ~ some of my good friends from high school. My kids enjoyed playing with the other kids, the trampoline and all the goodies Allison baked up. At one point during the party one of the kids came up to their mom (Suzi) and told her "there is a little boy with no pants on peeing in the driveway". Yep, that was my kid. Same friend also told me after playing with the twins (they were jumping off the deck to her) "Wow, your kids have no fear...they just go for it".  Yep we have active, adrenaline junky two-year olds. What are they going to be like when they are teenagers???

By Tuesday, Mav had started having diarrhea and this continued until Saturday. He acted completely fine until Thursday night when he threw up all over me. Friday he slept all day long with me waking him occasionally for food & drink (Mav can't fast due to the RSS) and to change his nasty diapers. Baron got sick on Friday as well, had a little diarrhea and camped out in my bed all day to finally throw up at 6:30 pm. Thankfully I heard him coughing and was able to get to him in time to avoid puke all over my bed. He had a slight fever for about an hour and then he was up and playing outside. He asked for mac & cheese and proceeded to eat two bowls. He never got sick again and was back to normal by Saturday. Saturday morning greeted me with Elliott throwing up in her bed. Thankfully, like Baron, it wasn't a lot but it was still puke. She never acted sick, never had any bathroom issues and was eating like a champ by that evening. Grant also got sick on Saturday and while the flu only lasted about 6-8 hours, he spent the rest of the day in bed with a horrible migraine. By Sunday (Father's Day) everyone else was back to their normal selves. We celebrated Grant with just our little family (didn't want to pass on germs and all) and had steak for dinner. I think he had a good day and was probably just really thankful he wasn't sick anymore ;) Somehow I managed to escape the bug altogether and am thankful for that!
